Lyn
Waterhouse’s
coffee
morning
was
held
at
her
lovely
brick
barn,
near
Deal,
Kent.
We
started
off
sitting
around
the
kitchen
table,
with
lovely
buns
and
biscuits
just
in
front
of
us,
but
as
more
people
arrived
we
moved
into
the
sitting
room
and
hall.
Nineteen
of
us
were
there
with
a 20
year
age
range.Memories
ranged
from
using
bucket,
mop
and
‘Gumption’
to
clean
the
dormitory
walls
to
remembering
how
cold
it
was
in
the
dormitories,
(windows
open
wide
and
those
army
blankets
and
horse
hair
mattresses
were
not
that
cosy).
I
think
Thanet
is a
very
good
area
for
Old
Girl
contacts
but
imagine
there
must
be
many
more
for
whom
we
do
not
have
contact
details.
It
was
good
to
see
Alison
Simpson
(Teresa,
Alison
and
Mary’s
sister
had
builder
problems
so
was
unable
to
come)

and

Stead,
Rosemary
Howard,
Judy
Wilson,
Anne
Harding,
Brenda
Crump,
Elizabeth
Lead,
Jennifer
Sharp,
Val
French,
Wendy
Hogben,
Letitia
Anderson
(who
left
her
husband
puppy
sitting),
Tessa
Quentin
Evans,
Susan
Blacklocks,
Helen
Davis
Sandra
Noel
and
Valerie
Howard
came
from
Ashford.
(we
are
going
to
miss
their
valuable
committee
work
very
much).
